I also looked a projects based around people who were drug users, had HIV or AIDS. I decided to research these to see the kind of documentary photography that is used around this kind of subject. As like the surgery it is quite a personal subject for people. Looking at the images I feel like these people are more accepting to people being around them and following there journey than someone who has had surgery would be. Maybe this is because in most of these cases they can't hide the fact that these things are happening to them because of the diseases they have. Whereas a lot of people who have cosmetic surgery don't want everyone to know about it.
These people aren't afraid to show what has happened to them and what they are like. These people are changing there bodies in a completely different way to people having cosmetic surgery, they aren't planning on this happening to there bodies its the affects of what they are doing to themselves with drugs or from the diseases they have.
