A photographer I researched also was Jo Spence, looking over her book 'Putting Myself in the Picture' and her series called 'The Final Project'.
Mainly I focused on her series called 'The Picture of Health' and 'Cancer Shock'. These show her battle with breast cancer and her journey as she wanted to portray it though out. It's fascinating seeing how she wanted to show her journey. She doesn't cover anything up and show's the real, raw and violent side to the disease she had. This is what I want to show in my images, the other side of it. Showing the side you don't get to usually see.

Her images aren't glamourised and what you get is what you see with them. She has documented her journey as if you were with her and this is how I want my images to be.
